Show 34 WEBEK COLLEGE Foreign Language Requirements. Candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Arts who present for entrance less than the equivalent of 25 credit hours in one foreign language (French, German, Greek, Latin, Spanish), are required to pursue such language in college until they have earned a minimum of 25 credit hours. Candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Science are not required to present credit in a foreign language. SCHOOL OF EDUCATION General Requirements for Graduation. Candidates for the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees must complete 183 hours of approved work. This must include English la, lb, lc, Hygiene 1, Physical Education 2, 3, and 4, and in addition 13 hours from each of the following groups: Mathematics and Physical Science. Chemistry, Geology, Mineralogy, Mathematics, Astronomy, and Physics. Biological Science. Anatomy, Bacteriology, Botany, Hygiene, Physical Education, Physiology, Zoology. Not less than 4 credit hours of Biological Science must be in laboratory work or its equivalent. Language. Ancient Languages, English, Modern Languages, Public Speaking. Social Science. Anthropology, Archaeology, Economics, History and Political Science, Library, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology. WEBER COLLEGE 35 SCHOOL OF MINES AND ENGINEERING The Departments of Chemistry, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, and Mining, each offers a curriculum that leads, on completion, to a corresponding degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering. These curricula follow. They all have a common freshman year and nearly a common sophomore year. More or less of the work of the junior year is also common to all the curricula. Nearly all the courses making up the first three years in all the curricula are prescribed. Those in the senior year are "suggested" and are subject more or less to change, according to the wishes of the students and the facilities of the departments. A course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in General Engineering is also offered. To graduate with a B. S. Degree in Engineering a minimum of 200 credit hours must be completed, including a thesis. SCHOOL OF MEDICINE Students are admitted to the first year of the Medical Course after they have satisfied the requirements for entrance to the freshman class and have completed not less than three years of regular college work in Arts and Sciences. This work must include English; Chemistry, (In-organic, Organic, and Analytical); Biology, (Botany and Zoology); Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, Physics, Trigonometry, Psychology, Latin, and either French or German. |
