Show WEBER COLLEGE 99 DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY, ZOOLOGY, HYGIENE AND BACTERIOLOGY Alfred Russell Croft, A.B., A.M. Professor of Botany, Zoology, Hygiene and Bacteriology Candidates for the A.A. degree must complete 90 hours of approved work. This must include English 1 and 2, Physical Education, and 10 hours in each of the following groups: Exact Science, Social Science, Language, Biological Science. Candidates for the S.B. degree must complete 183 hours of approved work. This must include English 1 and 2, Physical Education and 13 hours in each of the following groups: Mathematics and Physical Science, Social Science, Biological Science, Language. Equipment. The equipment in this department consists of simple and compound microscopes, microtome, sterilizers, glassware, stains, chemicals, slides, and a considerable amount of plant and animal material. During the present year there has been added a high grade Stereop- ticon adapted for both transparent and opaque objects and a high power microscope. BOTANY Botany 1. General Botany. A survey of the subject is made which covers the history, functions and structure of the main forms of plant life. The course will satisfy the requirements of those who desire only a general knowledge of the subject and will also serve as a foundation for more advanced work. Three lectures and two labora- |
