Physical Education 1, 2, 3, and 4, and English la, lb, and lc are required of all first-year students. SCHOOL OF COMMERCE AND FINANCE Graduation Requirements. Candidates for the A. B. or B. S. Degree must complete at least 183 hours of work approved by the Dean and the Faculty of the School. At least 45 hours of the 183 hours must be Senior College work. All courses number 100 and above are counted as senior college work. To secure proper concentration, as well as distribution of studies, the candidate for the A. B. or B. S. degree must have completed 36 hours in a major subject, and in addition 13 hours in each of the groups of classified subjects: Mathematics and Physical Science. Astronomy, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Mineralogy, Physics. WEBER COLLEGE 39 Biological Science. Anatomy, Bacteriology, Botany, Hygiene, Physical Education, Physiology, Zoology. Not less than four credit hours of Biological Science must be in laboratory work or its equivalent. Languages. Ancient languages, English, Modern Languages, Public Speaking. Social Science. Anthropology, Archaeology, Economics, History, Library, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology. English la, lb, lc, and Physical Education 1, 2, 3, 4, are required. Business 1, 2, 3, (Elementary Accounting), Business 22a, 22b, (Business organization and administration), or Economics 12, (Business Economics), will be requested of all candidates for the above degrees in School of Commerce and Finance. The remaining hours are elective and may be chosen, except as otherwise provided, from among all the departments of instruction of the University. At least 90 of these credit hours shall be for work in the Departments of Business and Economics and allied subjects under the direction of the Dean and Head of the Department concerned. The allied subjects may be elected from the following departments: Art, English, History, Law, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. Candidates for the A. B. Degree must have had the equivalent of 25 credit hours of foreign language during their high school or college course. Candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Science are not required to present credit m a foreign language. |
