A course designed to cover the general principles of Zoology together with representative animal types. Such other topics as life histories, geographic distribution, and animal habits will be considered. Three lectures and two laboratory periods per week. Autumn Quarter. Five credit hours. Zoology 2. General Zoology. Winter Quarter. Three lectures and two laboratory periods per week. Five credit hours. Zoology 3. Genetics and Eugenics. A study of inheritance in plants and animals. The facts and theories of heredity; the well-being of human family and improvement of plant and animal forms are considered. Prerequisites: Botany 1, Zoology 1. Spring Quarter. Five credit hours. Zoology 4- Invertebrate Zoology. Designed especially for Pre-Medical Students. As far as possible, animals which cause disease, carry disease germs, or are structurally of medical importance, are selected for laboratory work. Open to all students. Three lectures and two laboratory periods each week. Winter Quarter. Five credit hours. Zoology 5. Comparative Vertebrate Zoology. Designed especially for Pre-Medical students. Pre-requisite: Zoology 4. Lectures and recitations on the comparative anatomy of the vertebrates and on Zoological principles are offered.
