Before a student can become a candidate for graduation, his record in the College must show: First, that he has satisfied the entrance requirements; secondly, that the collegiate work for which he has credit and pending credits, the completion of which is reasonably assured, together satisfy the requirements for graduating; thirdly, four-fifths of the grades earned by the student must be C or better. Students who graduate with an average grade of 90% will be designated as honor students. College credit will not be given for any course completed in high school. Freshman Year A. W. S. This work must include English 1 and 2, Physical Education and 10 hours in each of the following groups: Exact Science, Biological Science, Social Science, and Languages. Candidates for the A. B. degree must complete one hundred eighty-three hours of approved work. This must include English 1 and 2, Physical Education, and in addition not less than 13 hours from each of the following groups: Mathematics and Physical Science, Biological Science, Language, and Social Science. Certification Requirements for Normal Students Diploma of Grammar Grade. Valid for life, provided the holder does not permit five consecutive years to elapse without teaching or supervising; granted to an applicant who has taught successfully at least five years, two of which have been in Utah, and has completed a standard four year high school course and two years of approved normal school or college work.
