Show 22 WEBER COLLEGE Weber College Alumni Association The Weber College Alumni Association is made up of the graduates of the former Weber Academy, Weber Normal College, and the present Weber College. It was incorporated in 1,922 for the purpose of purchasing property for the college and assisting in all legitimate ways in its growth and development. The officers of the Association are President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, and Secretary-Treasurer. The Board of Directors of the Weber College Alumni Association consists of the above named officers of the association, and the President and Secretary of the College, and the President of the Associated Students of Weber College. Once a year, about Commencement time, a Weber College Alumni Banquet and Ball is given. This has come to be one of the most important social functions of the year. It is a very effective means of reviving old comradeship and fellowship. The Alumni Association each year sponsors at least one play for the purpose of increasing the fund of the association. The Associated Students of Weber College The students of Weber College have constituted themselves into a self-governing body known as The Associated Students of Weber College. This body exercises control over all forms of activity in which students are interested, such as athletics, dramatics, debating, publications, and amusements. The executive power of this organization is vested in a Board of Control. The Board of Control consists of the president, vice-president, and secretary of the Student Body; the president of the Freshman and the Sophomore classes; the president and the secretary of the College; and the faculty adviser. WEBER COLLEGE 23 Requirements for Entrance Applicants for admission to Weber College under 21 years of age must present satisfactory evidence of having completed a full high school course. A full high school course is estimated as fifteen units of approved work. Among those units presented for entrance, at least seven must be as follows: English 3 units Algebra 1 unit Geometry 1 unit History 1 unit Science 1 unit Applicants over 21 years of age who have not completed a full high school course may be admitted by the President as unmatriculated students. Students who expect to enter the College are requested to forward an official copy of their credits to the Registrar not later than September 1. Classification of Students A regular student with fewer than forty-five quarter hours credit at the beginning of the school year will be classed that year as a Freshman. A regular student with more than forty-five quarter hours credit and fewer than ninety quarter hours at the beginning of the school year will be classed during that year as a Sophomore. A student who has met the entrance requirements but who is carrying fewer than ten quarter hours of work will be classed as a Special. A student of 21 years of age or over who has not completed fifteen units of high school work will be classed as an Unmatriculated student. A quarter hour is the credit given for one hour of lecture or three hours of laboratory work each week for twelve weeks. |
