On July 2nd about 100 entered the golf tournament, July 3rd we fed about 250 at our dinner and karaoke night, on July 4th the parade and activities were enjoyed by many more, and on July 7 several families relaxed to the Celtic harp music at the park. As you know, Bona Vista Water District has converted to a full page bill. Bona Vista serves Marriott-Slaterville, Plain City, Harrisville, Farr West, and part of West Haven. The district now allows each community to insert its newsletter with the water bill. This is the first issue of the newsletter included with the Bona Vista statement._ AUGUST ACTIVITIES August 4th - Am Evening of Music at the Park. Bring your family to the Marriott Park and enjoy beautiful music, local talent, and socialize with friends and family. No charge for s event. Featuring: The No Name Band, Val and Natalie Currie, Kaitlyn and Dallin Holley, and Shawn Holley. Time: 7:00 p.m. Place: Marriott Park Bring: lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks. August 20th - Senior Citizens Night. Seniors in the community: Your are invited to a summer dinner and gathering for the "Meeting of the Memories" Time: 5:00 p.m. Place: Slaterville Park Cost: $3.00 per person RSVP: Shauna Meyerhoffer 394-7126. Notice: The above agendas are only tentative, for a final agendas contact the City Office._ LOCAL UPDATES Youth. Moscow-Utah Summer Youth Games were held July 16-28 in Moscow Russia. Congratulations to our local wrestlers: Billy Green won the gold medal, and Kevin Slater took silver. Election. Three council offices are open for filing. The filing deadline is August 15. Contact Becky Burt at 627-1919 for more information. Organ Donor. Mayor and Council approved a resolution urging public support for organ transplant donor programs. More information at www.questforthegiftoflife.org. MDA Proclamation. Mayor proclaims August 18 to September 1 as Utah Fire Fighters for MDA Month. Citizens are urged support efforts to find a cure for muscular dystrophy. EPA Resolution. Vacant Single Family Dwelling Units shall be exempt from the $3 monthly storm water utility fee, if: a) Dwelling unit is vacant, and b) Property owner disconnects or terminates water utility services to the unit. |
