Marriott-Slaterville City History August 2003 Delbert Hodson expressed concern to the council about the mosquitoes this year. He has been told that the Nature Center, bordering our community, will not allow spraying for this pest on their property. If this information is correct, he would like the staff to see what can be done to get the situation improved. Mayor Butler commended the excellent work by Bill Morris, Becky Syme and Jen Okey in creating a display representing our community at the Weber County Fair. Hooray! The intersection at 12th Street and 1900 West now has a stop light in place, and all lanes are open--a situation residents greatly appreciate. Some work, which will involve more closures, still remains to be accomplished in the next couple of months. Bits and Pieces Orvil Leon Carnahan, 82, died August 14, 2003. Gerald and Joan Taylor celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 27th, 2003. Tenille Howe won the UGA Match Play Golf Tournament which was held at the Park Meadows Country Club from August 11th through the 14th 2003. This qualified her to participate in the USGA Team Championship in Boston.
