Primary candidates were announced on the first assembly. Candidates were Rodger Shupe, Gary Larrson, Bill Lythgoe and Richard Nealson for president, Linda Harris, Janean Green, Peggy Grimm, for vice president; and Pat McFarland, Sylvia Palmer, Margaret Blair, Marcella Rezzi1, and Linda Duke for the office of secretary At the second assembly the field was narrowed down to two candidates for each office.
