Show Mr. Rowley was in charge of the Speech | class this year and planned a year of curricular activity which was most interesting. Behind the scenes of a big production are always found the “little men” who care for costumes, sets, lights and the all important make-up. The time spent making each other up seemed to be the favorite phase of Speech I. | | | Practicing a scene from the school play “Outward Bound” are Richard Nielson, Mike Oborn, Larry Larson, Ann Eddy, Jerry Mathews, Monty Shupe, Sandra Thomas, Maurine Parker, Kaye Ferrell. The technique of stage makeup is being practiced by Connie Knox, Donna Fuhrimann, Mr. Rowley and Roger Cox. The patient is Max Simpson. i Sib 9 A a Resolved: That the President of the United States should be elected by the direct vote of the people, was the national debate question and the center of attraction here as Goldelyn Wayment, Lynne Adams, Joanne Nickolas, and Sharon Cottrell try their skill at debating. i oe ee oe Wh i ||| wh Kaye Ferrell, a junior from Weber High, was chosen co- winner of the annual oratorical contest sponsored by the Golden Spike chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The contest was held at the Mansion House in February. Co-winner was Nadine Thomas of Ogden High School. Each of the two winners was presented medal for their excellent accomplishment. with a silver Kaye Ferrell and Pat Alger were chosen winners of the D.A.R. oratory contest. : |
