Show we eS CONTEST Jean, first — place, and Contest Winners alternate. 2 pam BEES Marianne, WINNERS The D.A.R., the Golden Spike Chapter, sponsors this contest annually to find the girl who best exemplifies a good citizen and is tops in scholastic ability, leadership, personality, and is well versed in current events. Jean Anderson received the winning position, after placing first in these divisions. Marianne Johns was a close runner-up. Jean went on to capture second place in the state DAR contest, of February 6. Sharon Larison, Beverly Harold Oakes was the winner of the seventh annual “Il Speak for Democracy” contest both at the school and in city wide competition. i More than 90 high school students competed in this year’s contest.
