Show But not all man/days are created equal. I am not talking about the Green Dragons or the cigars or the fancy breakfasts. Ed more than made up for these by establishing and serving as the high priest of a nightly ritual in which the members consumed with relish "rammers" of unmatchable quality from a pitcher of Martinis mixed by Ed with what must have been a God- given skill. With the members and their guests gone after the weekend, Ed was prone to fill the vacant chairs for lunch and dinner with guests of his choosing . Ed had a lot of guests because he had a host of friends. Mandalay was lucky that Ed had so many friends for us to feed. Those friends were attracted to Ed because of of the same qualities that endeared Ed to every member of Mandalay. He had the capacity to make friends instantly and keep them a lifetime. He was congenial, witty and wise, loyal, unpretentious, thoughtful, reliable, with a true sense of values. We held Ed in the highest esteem and the greatest affection. We will truly miss him but each of us will be forever enriched by his friendship. 4 |
