MTHE 4040 - Mathematical Problem Solving for Elementary Teachers (3) Sp Mathematical problem solving, discussion of process, writing solutions, and writing extensions. MTHE 4700 - Senior Project in Elementary Mathematics Teaching (3) F, Sp Projects in preparing, teaching and revising sequential mathematics lessons for elementary students. MTHE 5010 - Methods and Technology for Teaching Secondary Mathematics (3) Topics in secondary mathematics are taught to in-service teachers using a variety of methods and technology to make them better prepared for teaching secondary mathematics. Expository presentations about a current mathematics education research area are expected. MTHE 5210 - Calculus with Analytic Geometry (4) Analytic geometry, differentiation, integration, and applications. Prerequisite: MATH 1050 and MATH 1060 or MATH 1080 or placement test. MTHE 5220 - Calculus with Analytic Geometry (4) Transcendental functions, techniques of integration, conic sections, polar coordinates, infinite series, introduction to partial derivatives.
