Opal Lee Young Patrick July 16, 1929 — November 6, 2022 Dr. Opal Lee Young Patrick, age 93, passed away on November 6, 2022 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah. She was born July 16, 1929 in Tatums, Oklahoma to Lou Parson Young, Jr. and Connie V. Mitchell Young. She married Master Sergeant Charles N. Patrick on December 28, 1962 in the chapel at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico. Opal has many degrees and honors from various universities; Langston University, University of Oklahoma, University of Albuquerque, and the University of Maryland. From the University of Utah she holds degrees in Music, English, Counseling/Guidance, Psychology/Sociology, Special Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education. In addition she received her Ph. D from the University of Utah in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. She taught school in Germany, Utah, and Arizona at the elementary and high school levels. She was an education professor at the University of Utah.
