He serves as speaker of the Academic Senate. His responsibilities in relation to the student senate include Academic Research and Improvement, Master Student Awards and College Bowl. The Academic Vice President is a member of the Faculty Senate and appoints student representatives to the Faculty Senate, Faculty Senate Standing Committees, Ad Hoc Committees and Administrative Standing Committees. Rick is a Junior Honors Student majoring in English. Rick can be reached at 626-6889. Academic Senators The Academic Senate is composed of seven senators each representing one of the seven different schools at Weber State. The senators, with the help of their respective deans, are responsible for organizing an area council. The area councils include a student and faculty representative from each department in_ their school. Together with their dean and area council, the Academic Senators sponsor a series of activities such as a school week, a college bowl team | to r: Jeff Brown, Jill Niederhauser, Drew and a master student program.
