Flemmings, the THE Convention purchased a lot on Wall Avenue in Ogden, where BEGINNING the Wall Avenue Baptist Church was built by the congregation. He pastored for six years. Rev. B. J. Washington was called to pastor New Zion on April 8, 1952 and under his leadership the congregation grew He is a graduate of Booker T. Washington, Dallas; into the need of a new Church building. Through this effort, Wall Avenue Baptist Church became New Zion Baptist and has attended Bishop College. He graduated from Inter-Racial Baptist Institute in 1978, and has completed a special pastoral course at Bishop College. Liggins, when 27 converts were baptized. PRESENT Rev. I. P. Brantley was called to New Zion on April 5, 1987 and New Zion continues to lift up the Name of Jesus. During LEADERSHIP Pastor Brantley’s administration New Zion has ordained one minister and one deacon and we have continued in spiritual growth. |
