Show BANQUET SPEAKER Reverend William S. Beard William Beard was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the first of six children, and received his formal education through the public school system. In August 1975, he relocated to Utah. After a few years of soul searching he became a member of the Second Baptist Church where the Lord became a reality in his life. While at Second Baptist William began to study the Bible seriously. He served in the capacities of Teen Male Church School teacher, superintendent of Church School, minister of Christian Education. PROGRAMME TOASTMASTER SONG Reverend Beard’s religious training began at the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education-Ministers Division, where he attended several essential classes. He then pursued his education through Liberty University and received a Certificate of Ministry and later a certificate of completion in Biblical Studies. Also while attending Weber State College, he completed classes in Religious Philosophy and the Philosophy of Eastern Religions. Lester, Jr. INVOCATION William was selected with five other Brothers and ordained a deacon after training under Deacon George Anderson of New Zion Baptist Church and the area ministers under the direction of Moderator Reverend France A. Davis in January 1985. Deacon Beard was later that same year called to the Gospel Ministry, and licensed on December 15, 1985, under the pastorate of Reverend Charles Petty after preaching his trial sermon.
