Show New Zion’s Loyalty Month 1995 Theme: "Be Thou Faithful" Revelation 2:10 Thank you so much for volunteering to help us with this year’s Loyalty Day observance. Our captains who have volunteered are Brother and Sister Satterwhite, Sister Emma Brooks, Sister Thomas Reid, Sister Beverly Reid and Sister Denise Merritt. We need one more captain to take the Layton-Clearfield-Roy-Hill AFB area, and one to take central Ogden. We are asking for a $100 donation from each family and will appreciate your contribution. The college night and children/ youth night are staffed. Thank you college students and youth. We need someone to do the welcome and talk on the theme Monday and Tuesday nights and someone to do the welcome on Wednesday night. Acts 8:35 INTRODUCTION (Bible Expositor and Illuminator) 1. No one likes adversity. We do almost anything to avoid it. A certain amount of adversity, however, is essential to character development. It brings out our latent strengths, tests our ingenuity, and prepares us for greater challenges ahead. It also reveals Our weaknesses and provides incentive for overcoming them. 2. Historically, adversity has also been good for the Christian church. It has weeded out mere professors of Christianity and compelled true believers to rely more completely on God’s wisdom and strength. Practical Points 1. God often calls on us to minister to people with whom would not normally desire to associate (Acts 8:5). we 2. The one who has truly believed the gospel will be eager to obey it (Acts 8:36). 3. The call of the gospel is never wholehearted obedience (vss. 37-38). partial; it demands Conclusion If the Bible is to speak to us today, we must read it and study it and heed it.
