Stan had even a longer last moniker, which he dropped and while he has reduced his last name to Pavko his weight is still faithful to the end. Stan put in some pro duty with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1938 to 1941, then did some highly successful coaching at Idaho high schools. He came to Modesto College in 1948, acting as line coach to Fred Earle, Jr., present director of athletics. He served in this capacity in 1949 and 1950, ‘and will be taking on his first head coaching pigskin assignment at MJC in 1951. Fred describes Stan as ambitious, loyal, hardworking, and with the capacity to generate a fine team spirit. His track teams the last two years have been powerhouses and have been noted for their will to win. Stan also is California Interscholastic Federation Commissioner for the Southern Section, SacJoaquin District.
