Training in the repair, cleaning, and replacement of the auto body trim such as floor covering, headlining, door and quarter trim pads, wind lace and trim moulding, and seat cushions; also, the graining and refinishing of the dash and garnish mouldings. Five quarter hours. Spring. Vandenberg 57. Specialization Course in Auto Body Reconditioning. Advanced work is given in the various phases of auto body reconditioning. Two to five quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer. Staff Trade Technical 61. Fender Repair. Technical instruction in automobile sheet metal bumping and finishing, including analyzing damages, name of tools, and uses and care of tools; also safety practices, metal movement, and forming use of acetylene torch for welding, shrinking, and •soldering the filling of metals. Technical instruction in theory, operation, and set up of paint spray equipment such as compressors, transformers, air lines, and spray guns; also color composition, paint mixing, surface preparation and finishing, striping and lettering. Technical instruction pertaining to the replacement of auto body parts, analyzing damage, estimating time and cost; also body construction, and technical problems in checking and alignment of the auto body. Five quarter hours. Spring Vandenberg 64. Automobile Body. Technical instruction in theory, operation and servicing of the auto body mechanism such as window and door regulators, seat adjusters, door handles, door locks, and windshield wipers. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Vandenberg 65. Principles and Practice of Construction. Technical instruction in alignment and straightening problems pertaining to the automobile chassis including axles and springs; also theory and operation of front wheel suspension steering gear, drive shafts, and brakes. Technical instruction in repair, cleaning and replacement of the auto body trim, including cost estimating, and layout problems; also construction of door trim parts, trim pads, seat cushions and headlining.
