This course deals with a study of plant life; their relationship to each other and to the animal kingdom. It will be made introductory to studies in Agriculture as well as to the sciences. Two lectures and one laboratory period. Winter quarter. Three credit hours. Professor Evans. Biology 3. Botany II. A course dealing with the structure and function of the root, stem and leaf of plants and with plant classification. One lecture and two laboratory periods. Spring quarter. Three credit hours. Professor Evans. Biology 4- Genetics. A course dealing with the study of plants and animals in relation to reproduction and heredity. Methods of measury variation and heredity will be introduced into the course. Three lectures. Spring quarter. Three credit hours. Professor Evans Biology 5. Hygiene and Sanitation. The course includes a study of sanitary and other conditions in the school, in the community and in the home in relation to individual and public health. Lighting, heating, ventilation and sewage disposal will be studied and care of the body considered. Four lectures and one laboratory period. Winter quarter. Three credit hours. Professor Evans. Biology 6. Animal Husbandry. This course is designed to acquaint the student with breeds and types of form animals, their care and management and their adaptibility to local condition. Judging of horses, beef cattle, dairy cattle and WEBER COLLEGE 65 crops will be given. Three lectures and two laboratory periods. Winter quarter. Five credit hours. Professor Evans. Biology 7. Agronomy. Consideration will be given of our commonly grown farm crops and of soil types—their origin and fertility. Judging of the common varieties will be given. This course deals with the common varieties of fruits and vegetables, their care and management and local adaptability. Training in judging will be given. Three lectures and two laboratory periods.
