Show 3. Discussion/Action on request by Gary Jumper for special early placement on agenda for general plan amendment in November or December to add for high density housing at 1200 W. 853 S. 4. Public Hearing - Public comments on potential projects for funding under the CDBG small cities program for 2001-2002. 5. Additions or changes to the 2000-2001 Capital Improvements Plan. 6. Public Hearing - Recommendation on Ordinance 2000-25 by David Combe for textual amend to the A-1 zoning chapter to allow as a permitted use the on-site assembly of prefabricated all-wood components, with no on-site sales and no visiting clientele. 7. Public Hearing - Recommendation from Planning Commission on Ordinance 2000-18 on Supplemental and Qualifying Regulations (Chapter 13.26) of the Zoning Ordinance to deal with various issues relating to zoning and land use. 8. Short reports from City officers. 9. Discussion/Action on Resolution 2000-S approving Proclamation Declaring October 2000 as "Save Today Month" in Marriott-Slaterville City for domestic violence awareness and prevention. 10. Discussion/Action on Resolution 2000-T requesting appraisal on a state-owned surplus real property on 12th Street. 11. Items to be placed on next council agenda and Motion to Adjourn (Next Meeting on Thursday, November 2, 2000 at 6:00 p.m.). Remember that the above agendas are tentative. Council meetings are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 6:00 PM each month. The Planning Commission meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month at 7:00 PM. Despite torrential rain, two teams of Marriott-Slatervillites battled to claim the softball title of the City. Everyone had a enjoyable time, and we appreciate Trudy Hill for organizing this event. ? Good Neighbor Awards Postponed. As the Mayor will be out-of-town for the Council meeting this month, the good neighbor awards will be presented in November. Thanks for your nominations. ? Support Local Businesses. The City Council encourages residents to support the local businesses in the community. ? Building Permits. Just a reminder that any new construction requires a building permit. If you are not sure if your project requires a permit call Ken Martin, Building Inspector, at 509-0235. A special reduced building permit of $40.40 is given for most small sheds and small outbuildings. Septic System Moratorium. The City received notice that the State Division of Water Quality has issued a moratorium on all special or alternative septic systems pending a review of potential environmental impacts. ? Culinary Water Questions? Any questions for culinary water should be referred to Bona Vista Water at 621-0474. The City does not make any culinary water decisions. ? County Compost. For questions on the county compost facility call 726-8212. The City does not operate the compost facility. ? New Cell Tower. The planning commission approved a conditional use permit for a new wireless communications tower on Pioneer Rd. near the power corridor. ? Waste Providers. For questions on waste provider service in the City call Green Disposal at 392-4950, or Waste Connections at 771-0273. The City does not handle waste collection. ? US Postal Service. The post office sent the City a notice requesting all residents to contact the post office at 627-4521 before placing any new mailbox, since new federal guidelines have been issued. Also, use "MSC, UT 84404" (84401 in the Riverside Industrial Park) on mail as it is the designated address for our area. Want to place your ad in the newsletter? Call 627-1919 for prices and details. Program director and volunteers for the Sub-for-Santa program are needed. Please contact Duncan Murray at 627-1919 if you are interested. ? Service Workers. Community service workers are needed by the New Day Christian Resource for Life Center. The center helps victims of drug or alcohol abuse, and domestic violence. Please contact Rev. Ray Sarter at 392-9123 for more information. UPCOMING GENERAL ELECTION General Election will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2000, for 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall. Get out to vote! The Utah Coalition to Stop Drug Dealers and local law enforcement organizations are urging voters in the community to vote against Initiative B. These organizations claim that Initiative B is promoted by out-of-state groups advocating the legalization of drugs and would allow drug dealers to keep the profits of their crimes.
