Marriott-Slaterville History November 2000 Mayor Butler made history in getting Ogden City to repair the roof of the city office. Marriott-Slaterville leases its office through a private agency assigned to redevelop the former Defense Depot Ogden. However, since our city office took residence in its building the roof has leaked terribly. Every rain or snow storm was a threat and the ceiling was covered with plastic to direct the leaks into strategically placed barrels to catch the water. The leaks became so bad that water began dropping on the heads of Planning Commissioners during their meetings. Thanks to Mayor Butler and Duncan Murray, the problem was solved. Also, a resolution was passed to compensate the landlord for the great expense incurred in replacing the entire roof on our city office. No more leaks in city hall. 2
