This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show refers me to Mrs. Plummer among others. I then go & see her. Like her appearance and arrange to call munday. Walk home got & it is three o clock P.M. do up work practice 1 hr. Get Supper wash dishes. Practice 1 hr. Retire early Friday 17 Arise at 7 A.M. get breakfast after which practice 2 hr. Then swep & dust four rooms. Get dinner & do up work. Practice 1 hr. Give Phebe her lessons. Sweep & dust Hall & an room downstairs. Help with supper work after which write. Saturday 18 Arise at 7 AM. get breakfast after which clean house until 2 P.M. then practice 2 hr. Supper after which Mrs C entertains us by talking about curch People never again to feel as have today Receive letter from Jim & One from Rose Sunday 19 - Arise at usual time get breakfat after which go to practice but on account of having a lame rist cannot so do baking Go to curch Phebe goes with me to meeting. It is snowing we miss car so walk there and back in Storm. Enjoy meeting ever so much see a number of familiar face. Meet one of my pupils of Logan School. Smith W. tells me some home news. After meeting help Mrs C with dinner work. Phebe goes in to listen to my piece after which we bouth visite. Have a talk with Mrs Cabant taking vocal. She encourages me in it. Write to C. L. An old quaker speaks in curch Munday 20 Arise late do up Bed room work before breakfast. Go up town at 10 A.M. Take piano lesson Call to see vocal teacher she is not in so take a stroll around several Clocks. Meet Bro Kimball who invites me to call on them Wished me to call this eve but did not go Did some shoping and arrived home at 2-30 P.M. dine after which do up dinner work. Practice 1 hr. Get supper Read the news. Write to E. |
