This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Wednesday Aug 2 /93 Montpelier Ma goes off to sew. I do up work then copy music. Babe is cross & Will is sick. Mr. Balls call in. Sew some. Nothing special. Thursday 3 Aug /93 Montpelier Ma goes off to sew. I start to wash this morning. Got through washing at 3 P.M. after which scrub cook Kitchens and poarch. Sweep and dust bouth rooms. Get supper do up work. Dampen clothes down. Darne some in evening. Ma get home late. Feel tired out so retire as soon as possible. Friday Aug 3 / 93 Montpelier This morning I get up late get breakfast and prepare to give lessons today. Give to in forenoon Saturday Go to Paris to choir practice to night. Edward meets me at practice so I remain over all night stay with aunt Mary Rich. Saturday Aug 5. 93 Paris This morning I get up about 7 oclock Aunt Mary R has breakfast ready. Help her with the work some little & then dress for church. It being Conference. Attend forenoon & after noon meeting. Enjoy bouth ever so much. After church I practice my song for concert this evening. Edward invites Pro. Paul to take supper at his home. Enjoy his company ever so much. Go to concert with Edward. Get along O.K. with my vocal solo Only a Tangle of Golden Curls recd encore and acknowledged it by singing If You Love Me Darling etc. Chorus was repeated by Sage Brush Glee Club of Logan. Enjoyed concert ever so much as it was quiet a success. Ma came over with Mrs. McCart. Apostle Lyman stopped over night at Aunt Marys and at midnight was serenaded by Sage Brush Glee Club singing grand. Sunday Aug 6 93 Paris Arise at 7-30 Attend meeting in forenoon |
