148 Art majors who have completed the Foundation are permitted to take the 3000 level studio class without the 2000 prerequisite in Metals/ Jewelry, Watercolor Painting, and Weaving. Students who have not completed the Foundation and who wish to take specialized studio courses must take the 2000 level studio course. Art Major BACHELOR DEGREE (B.A. OR B.S.) Art majors must complete either the General Art (see below) requtements or complete the requtements for one of the areas of emphasis. Also refer to the general grade requirements for graduation on page 36. Art Teaching majors must achieve an overall GPA of 3.00 for admission to the Teacher Education program. » Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 120 credit hours is required for graduation. Of this total, 36 credit hours are required for the General Art major and 48 credit hours are required for each of the areas of emphasis at B.S./BA. level. A total of 40 upper division credit hours is required (courses numbered 3000 and above). There are no special admission or application requirements for the Art General or 48 hour emphasis areas.
