This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Help with work. practice 1 hr. Wash my hair. Spend most of day in practising. Get Supper after which Mr & Mrs C & I go to St. Marks Curch. Get home at 9.30 Retire early. Monday Apr. 3 Get up at 6 Make fires practice before breakfast and after Take my lessons. Walk 35 blocks. Meet friends from home. Get home at two make beds. Practice 1 hr. Sew some get supper do up work practice a short time retire early- Tuesday 4 Apr. Arise at 7 A.M. Make fire and practice until breakfast is ready after which help with dishes. Wash until 1 P.M. After dinner do bed room work clean lamps etc until 4. Practice from 4 until 6. Recd letter from Ma. Darn 3 pairs of hose mix bread retire at 9.30 To tired for words Wednesday 5 Get up at 7 A.M. Prepare breakfast after which do up Kitchen work and ironing. Practice 2 hr. Mrs C & I go up town Call on Mrs Cane. Visit most of Milniar stores. Meet a number of friends from home. Get home at 7 P.M. Supper do up work & retire late. Recd letter from Claire. Thursday Apr 6 Got up at 6 A.M. Storm Dressed to go up town. Went up before breakfast as was delayed in getting into store so Took a walk down to Temple block meet sister Mary Rich and many other friends. Got me a hat & back home at 8/30. Do up breakfast work and go up town for lessons. It is one of the stormiest days I ever saw. Blows down front of brick building up roots trees etc and winds up with snow. After lesson go to see Ella, Effie also meet friend from Arizona Spend a couple of hrs. there after which accompany Mr. Holmes & girls to Wonderland |
