Show at Joe Riches. Listen to Phonograph. Eat lunch down by bath house after which go in bathing. Jim and Bird Austin come back with us. Prepare for Soda during the evening. Retire late. Tuesday 11 July Montpelier. Leave for Soda Spring this morning at 8 A.M. in Company with Ma Babe. Edward and I in buggy & Jim & Birdie Austin on horse back. Have a pleasant drive to Swan Lake where we noon for a couple of hours. Edward and I go for a walk which we enjoy ever so much Start for Soda at 5 P.M. Edward and I on horse back & the rest in carriage. Our horses are not very easy riding so about two mi. from Soda we join the rest by getting in carriage. Find Sam Rich & family at Hooper we join them have supper and spend evening around Camp fire. Wednesday 12th July. Hooper Springs. Sam Rich and family start home this morning. Spend the day around camp and enjoying Soda water. Edward reads some. Thursday July 13th Hooper Springs. To day we visit Ninty percent steam boat and some other Springs. Have a pleasant time. Get back to camp and find Landon Rich and family have come. All have supper together. Friday 14th July Hooper Springs- Landon gets breakfast. In forenoon we all start for Farmation Springs. Edward and I ride horse back. We visit Mammoth, also Shampagine Spring. Going from here to Farmation we have some trouble as Edward crosses Soda creek and comes near getting ducked etc. Have a laughable time and meet folks at Farmation Springs Several hours later. |
