ABOUT REED K. Weber National SWENSON Coach President NJCAA WEBER WEBER COLLEGE Weber College will certainly be one of “the teams to beat’ in this tournament. The Weber “Wildcats” are defending their twoyear-old region IV crown won in 1949 and 1950 and have high hopes of making it a three-year-old reign in the ’51 tourney. Coached by Reed K. Swenson, who is currently serving his second consecutive term as president of the National Junior College Athletic association, the Weber men have garnered twenty victories this season against nine losses. In conference play in the ever rough Northern Division of the I.C. A.C. they have won 9 and lost 3. Last years conference champions lost their grip on the 1951 laurel leaves when Boise J. C. pulled an unexpected upset on the Boise court, thereby throwing the Northern Division pennant to Rick’s College. Nevertheless the ‘“‘Wildcats’”’ are out to redeem themselves in the four-state Ogden tourney. The Weber team represented this region with honor at the National Kansas tournament by gaining sixth place honors from a field of sixteen regional winners from all over the U. S. The “Cats” will not be a pushover in this joust having garnered victories this season from ever-powerful Compton of California, Clark College, Mount Vernon, traded laurels with strong four-year Rick’s and others.
