46 Physical Science. A well-built single course taught throughout the year is recommended. Such a course, however, may not be used by majors in physical science or other departments which require physical science courses for their majors. Biological Science. For the general student who has not had a good biology course in high school, a general biology course is required. Students whose entrance tests indicate good basic preparation in biological science should take more advanced courses which will be recommended by the departments. Students who score beow a certain figure on an entrance test are required to complete one course from the basic list and must fill the remaining hours from a list of supplementary courses. Social Science. Five semester hours in two areas are required. Humanities and Fine Arts. Of the eight hours the student must take three hours in literature and some work in at least two other departments. A full year's beginning course of ten semester hours in a foreign language shall carry three hours toward the satisfaction of this group requirement and may reduce the requirement in literature to two hours.
