A course designed to teach the principles of human relations in industry. It includes such topics as "The Supervision and Human Control", "The Economics of Supervision," "The Human Side of Internal Management," "Belief Systems and Attitudes," "Conflicts, Cooperation and Morale." "The Supervisor and Leadership," and "Motivation and Incentives." Three quarter hours. 91. Multilith Press Operation and Lithographic Photography. An introductory course in Multilith Press Operation and Lithographic Photography, including instruction in the use of camera, dark room equipment and supplies, layout and stripping, plate making, etc. Five credit hours. INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS 51. Labor Relations. A course designed to acquaint labor and management with an understanding of each other's problems and responsibilities to each other and to the public. The Taft-Hartley Act and other pertinent challenging problems will be considered. Three quarter hours. 53. Labor Economics. This course will serve as an introduction to the study of labor. Wage determination, collective bargaining, economic security, trade unionism, labor supply and demand, and other labor management problems will be studied. Three quarter hours. 55. Industrial Management. A course dealing with the problems and the solution of problems occurring in personnel administration. Consideration is given to factors influencing the fundamentals of management, physical plant facilities, standardization of procedures work simplification, inspection, materials oontrol,production planning, budgetary and cost control, wage and salaries, industrial relations and organization. A program designed to give the basic mechanics of public speaking and communication, including principles of parliamentary procedure. Three quarter hours. DIVISION OF HUMANITIES The Division of Humanities offers courses in the departments of General Education for Humanities, Art, English Language, Literature, Speech, Foreign Languages, and Music. Many courses listed in this Division will be taught in the Evening School, and in addition, the following courses may be offered. ENGLISH 51. Rapid Reading. A course designed to aid the student to achieve better speed and comprehension in reading.
