Since 1953, students at Ben Lomond High School have been creating scrapbooks. These books document the memories of the students each year. The scrapbooks hold a snapshot and time capsule of each student body. Each one contains photographs, newspaper articles and a written yearly history. |

Show — maton LLOYD First R. HOGAN JR. 1961 Fatality Ogden Youth Dies of Car Crash Injury Lloyd Ronald Hogan Jr., 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd. R. Hogan of 641 7th, died Monday afternoon of injuries suffered earlier in the day when a car overturned near El Monte Golf Course. | The youth was Ogden’s fatality of 1961. Young Hogan teen-agers was in the one canyon | first of two highway accident Monday morning. He died without regaining consciousness. A .companion, Don Russell, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul West of 1331 Douglas, suffered head injuries in the accident and was in “criti- cal” Dee condition morning, The at 24 hours Russell the after youth was the this crash. still un- conscious, Lt. A. W. Foulger, head of the traffic police said a full report of the accident will not be made until officers can talk to the injured youth, EXCUSED FROM SCHOOL The officer said it isnot definitely known which youth was driving. Authorities at Ben Lomond High School said the two youths had been excused from school to attend city traffic court where young Russell was scheduled to answer a traffie ticket. The school officials said they ‘understood young Russell intended to drive his own car, taking the Hogan youth as a witness in the traffic hearing. 4 ; ‘Police said the car, westbound on the canyon highway turned the curve just west of the second bridge near the mouth of the canyon, then bounced out of control to the left of the highway, struck a bank and flipped through the air to land on its top in the middle of the highway Both youths were thrown out of tie.
