All elections of the Student Body Officers, Class Officers, Boys’ and Girls' Association Officers shall be conducted according to rules drawn up by the Election Committee and approved by Student Council. Assemblies may be offices. held to introduce candidates who are to be elected to the various Rules shall provide for individual secret voting booths. Section 2. Whenever a vacancy in the elected office occurs, it shall be filled by a special election by the Associated Students called by the Executive Board as soon as possible after the vacancy occurs. Article IX -- Clans Section 1. Clans may be organized by submitting a constitution for approval to Executive Board, to Faculty Council, and to Student Council. All constitutions must be renewed each year, Article X -- Recall Section 1. Any elected officer of this Association may be recalled for just cause by a majority of the students comprising the constituency from which the officer was elected. A petition signed by thirty per cent of the officers' constituency asking for his recall and stating the reason therefore shall be necessary in order to authorize the calling of a special recall election. The Student Executive Board also shall have the power to call special recall election, for stated reasons by a vote of two-thirds of its members. The petition shall be checked by the faculty advisor and the principal to ascertain whether the provisions of this section have been complied with; if found deficient in any respect, it shall be returned to the person who presented it. If it is again presented, the same course shall be pursued. Upon presentation of a verified petition, Council shall order the special recall election to be held within two weeks after presentation of the verified petition to Council. The officer whose recall is requested shall be permitted to defend his conduct in a school assembly.
