Service and Support [Novell Course 580] (3) F This course in the Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) series includes configuring and installing hardware for NetWare servers and workstations. IntraNetWare: Integrating Windows NT [Novell Course 555] (2) 5 This course covers the fundamentals of Windows NT networking and how to integrate Windows NT with a NetWare network. Network Management Using Manage Wise [Novell Course 730] (1) This course uses Manage Wise for effective network management and includes the integrated ManageWise components: NetExplorer, ManageWise Console (including Desktop Manager), and ManageWise Agents. Transport Media 8c Emerging Technologies (3) F Investigation into the common types of telecommunications transport media, including the typical uses, operating characteristics, business applications, and emerging technologies in the marketplace. Prerequisite: TBE 2500. TBE 2730. Managing a Telephone Switch (3) 5 Study of a telephone switch including planning, managing, and troubleshooting. Security issues are discussed and incorporated when students complete a hands-on lab project where they will program a switch. TBE 2860. Office Technologies Practicum (1-6) F, 5 Open to all students who meet the minimum requirements of the department for business-related on-the-job experiences. Training the Trainer (3) 5 Real-world strategies and techniques to provide better employee training, including development of materials and methods to enhance the learning process. TBE 3550. Supervising Information Technology (3) 5 Analyzing Information Technology (IT) systems and procedures including planning and implementation, departmental structure and operations, and the responsibilities and productivity of IT personnel. Principles of Business/ Marketing Education (2) F Professionalism, curriculum, standards, counseling, tech prep, competency-based testing, research, and current issues and trends in Business/Marketing Education. Wireless Telephony (3) F An examination of the growing wireless telecommunications market and wireless applications for industry and commercial use. Telecommunications Policy (3) F Explores how the structural, competitive economic, and environmental forces affect the continuing transformation of the telecommunications industry both domestically and internationally. Discussion of the impact of contemporary issues on the provider and the consumer of telecommunication services including the taxation of electronic commerce. TBE 4700. Data Network Design (3) 5 Architecture, technologies, and standards associated with the design and management of modern data networks. Traffic Technology Sc Voice Network Design (3) 5 Develop an understanding of network facilities and their uses.
