Submit an application for admission to the Department of Accounting. If not currently matriculated, applicants must also submit an application to Weber State. 2. Submit transcripts of all previous college work. 3. Submit scores from the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). 4. Submit two letters of recommendation (waived if a current student at Weber State with a major in Accounting). Additional materials such as resumes or other relevant information may be submitted at the applicant's discretion. Applicants with a combined GMAT-GPA index* in excess of 1250 will be unconditionally accepted into the program. Applicants with scores between 1050 and 1250 will be subject to review by the Graduate Admissions Committee before any admission decision is made. *The GMAT-GPA index is computed by multiplying the overall GPA (four-point scale) by 200 and adding that number to the GMAT score. International Student Applicants International student applicants must submit the following documents at least 60 days prior to the start of the quarter in which they plan to enroll: 1. An application for admission. 2. A $35 nonrefundable application fee. 3. Official transcripts in English from each secondary school, college, or university attended showing degrees, diplomas, and certificates received. Transfer applicants from U.S. colleges must have attended the prior college or university for at least one academic year and must present evidence of having earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or "C." 4. International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency by presenting a TOEFL score of 500 or above. Test results should be sent directly from The College Board to the Admissions Office. International students transferring from another college or university who have not completed the equivalent of Weber State's English 111 Freshman Composition course with a grade of C- or better or who are unable to present evidence of English proficiency will be assigned to the Weber State English as a Second Language Program (ESL). 5. A financial statement indicating the availability of at least $12,180 for school and living expenses during the first year at Weber State, and adequate funds for the full length of the time they expect to be enrolled. International students are admitted for enrollment every quarter, and must take at least 12 credit hours each quarter. All international students are required to meet with the International Student Adviser immediately after arriving on campus to receive individualized briefing and academic advice. The International Student Adviser gives assistance to students in meeting U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service requirements concerning visas, passports, permits, permission to work, and related matters. Students are also assisted in making academic, social, and environmental adjustments to campus and community life. Applicants Without High School Diplomas Students 18 years of age and older who have not completed high school may be considered for admission by passing the General Education Development Test (GED) with scores specified by the University—an overall average of 45 or better, with no individual score below 40. In order for 18-year-olds to qualify to take the GED, the high school class of which they were a member must have graduated. The ACT is also required for admission. An ACT composite score of 20 or better will satisfy high school equivalency and preclude the need to take the GED. Readmission Applicants Students who interrupt their enrollment at Weber State by not registering for one or more quarters, with the exception of Summer Quarter, must apply for readmission. To reapply, applicants must complete the following steps by the appropriate deadline: 1. Submit an application for readmission. Students who have been out of school for less than one year may reapply simply by calling the Weber State Admissions Office and requesting reactivation of their file. 2. Request official transcripts from each institution attended since last enrolling at Weber State. Students who have registered at another school since last attending Weber State are considered transfer students and must comply with all application requirements of transfer students and pay the application fee. Transfer Applicants To be considered for admission to Weber State, students transferring from another college or university must submit the following information: 1. An application for admission and the application fee. 2. An official transcript from each college or university previously attended. The transcript must be sent directly from the prior school to the WSU Admissions Office. Applicants who are currently enrolled at another college or university must submit an official copy of their final transcript as soon as it is available. Transfer students who fail to submit final transcripts will be prevented from registering for subsequent quarters. 3. Evidence that they have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or above in all previous college work, and that they are in good standing at the college or university where they were most recently registered. Transfer students less than 23 years of age who have completed 15 credit hours or more will not be required to take the ACT if the equivalent of Weber State's English 111 is included in the 15 hours, and was completed with a grade of C- or better. Students transferring to Weber State with an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree earned at any institution within the Utah System of Higher Education will be considered as having met the Weber State general education requirements. Those transferring from a Utah System institution who have not graduated with an academic associate degree but who have met that institution's general education requirements, will be considered as having satisfied the Weber State general education requirements if the registrar at that institution will certify that those transferring have completed baccalaureate-level general education requirements. Credit for courses numbered 100 or above earned in the Utah System of Higher Education is transferable within the System and will be carried on the student's transcript by Weber State. Acceptance of credit should not be confused with its application. Transfer credit may or may not apply to Weber State's graduation requirements. Credit other than that intended wholly to meet general education requirements will be applied to Weber State's specific degree program requirements upon the recommendation of the appropriate department chair. Students transferring from accredited junior or senior colleges outside of the Utah System of Higher Education will be accepted with upper division standing if they present evidence of having completed an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree which included a general education program comparable to that of Weber State. If such is not presented, applicants may be required to complete general education courses as outlined in this catalog.
