Principles of Economics. This course has to do with a consideration of the underlying principles of Economics. Special attention is given to the production, exchange, distribution, and consumption of wealth. Five quarter hours. ECONOMICS 2. Principles of Economics. The subject matter of Economics 1 is continued in this course, special emphasis being placed upon current economic problems. Five quarter hours. ECONOMICS 3. Corporation Finance. This course deals with the principles and methods employed in the functioning of busi- WEBER COLLEGE 59 ness enterprises: Investment of capital funds; determination of incomes, dividends, and surpluses; insolvency receivership, reorganization. Five quarter hours. ECONOMICS 4. Economic History of the United States. A study of the evolution of industrial society in the United States from the period of colonial development down to the present. Population, immigration, natural resources, public lands, transportation and communication, extractive and manufacturing industries, markets, commerce, financial institutions, labor, government finance and tariff are treated. Five quarter hours. ECONOMICS 5. Money and Banking. A course covering the theory and history of money, origin and principles of banking, functions of the bank, the clearing house, and Federal Reserve system. Five quarter hours. ECONOMICS 6. Public Finance. A study of the various kinds of public revenues and expenditures and the fiscal principles which govern them. Public credit, public debt, methods of borrowing, and the budget are also considered. Five quarter hours. ECONOMICS 7. Economic Geography. Influence of geographical factors on the development of industry and commerce commercial products and their regions of production; distrubution and development of leading industries; continents and countries; relations of man to his geographic environment. Five quarter hours. Business BUSINESS 1. Commercial LawContracts. A course in the nature and sources of law, the business man's relation to the law and the public, and the making of contracts. Five quarter hours. BUSINESS 2. Commercial LawNegotiable Instruments. Deals with the necessary elements of negotiable paper and the business man's relations with his bank and financial creditors.
