Principles of Education. A study of education: meaning, aims, function, and relationship to other agencies and institutions. Three quarter hours. EDUCATION 2. Organization and Administration of Elementary Schools. A course dealing with: (a) Utah school law and means and agencies by which the law is administered. (b) Relationship of Federal Government to state and local units, as defined by State Board of Education. Three quarter hours. EDUCATION 3. Elementary School Curriculum. A study of the Utah State Course of Study for the first six grades of the public school. Three quarter hours. EDUCATION 4. Methods of Teaching Elementary Subjects. Treats the fundamental methods used in teaching the subjects of the elementary school curriculum. Three quarter hours. EDUCATION 5. Observation and Elementary Training. Essentially a laboratory course affording opportunity for practice teachers to apply the principles of teaching developed in the theoretical courses. Students meet actual school-room situations and receive the frequent constructive criticism of expert help. Ten quarter hours. EDUCATION 6. Elementary Educational Statistics. The administration of group tests, together with the statistical treatment of the results. Two quarter hours. EDUCATION 8. Elementary Educational Psychology.
