A speed of at least 25 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) Staff 42. Elementary (continued). Thorough review of keyboard and number and symbol keys. The business letter, tabulated reports, improvement of basic skills, and intensive speed building. A speed of at least 35 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) M. Maw 48. Intermediate. Manuscripts, special problems in letter arrangement and business forms, spirit process and mimeograph duplicating. Review of keyboard, and intermediate speedbuilding. A speed of at least 45 words a minute should be attained. Three quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. (Evening school, two quarter hours.) M. Maw 44. Speedbuilding and Office Projects. Special communication forms, statistical reports, legal documents and business letters, advanced speedbuilding, further training in spirit process and mimeograph duplicating. Those students completing Secretarial Training 45 and desiring further speedbuilding practice may repeat the course and receive credit for Secretarial Training 46. Three quarter hours. Spring. M. Maw •Credit will not be given to students who have had one year previous training. A student desiring to review the typewriter keyboard and techniques should enroll in Secretarial Training 42. General Secretarial Courses 26. Office Procedures. Designed to give practical integration in all secretarial skills. Training in office techniques, organization routine, business grooming, human relations, and business etiquett. Practice in filing, handling mail, use of the telephone, operation of voice-writing, duplicating and calculating machines, and transcription and composition of letters. Prerequisites: Typing speed of 40-45 words per minute. Students attaining speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand should complete Sec. Tr. 37 previously or during same quarter. Students not taking shorthand (which is recommended, but not required) should complete English 18 previously or during same quarter.
