Industrial Drafting. (Blueprint Reading and Sketching) A course designed to teach basic principles of sketching and blueprint interpretation as applied to industrial practices; to include lettering, visualization of objects, use of scale, and freehand sketching and drawing. (Basic Mechanical Drawing) Basic drawing operations to include, visualization of size and shape, lettering, use and care of instruments, drawing to scale, geometrical principles, multiview drawings, and dimensioning. Three quarter hours. Autumn Best 23. Industrial Drafting. (Basic Mechanical Drawing, Cont'd.) To include lettering sectional, primary, auxiliary, pictorial revol- tions, intersections and developments, threads, springs, fasteners, detail, and assembly drawings. Two to five quarter hours. To incude common symbols of trade and industry, conventional methods of representation, clearance, tolerance, fit, and graphic representation. (Elementary Design) A course to introduce basic mechanical design principles. Prerequisite: Drawing 23 or equivalent. (Jig and Fixture Design) An ele- introduce basic mechanical design principles. Prerequisite: Drawing, drilling, brushing gaging, forming, cutting, milling, welding, sawing, and shaping devices. Drawings include multiview, sectional, auxiliary, pictorial, shop, and working drawings to scale. Five quarter hours. Winter. Best 34. Industrial Drafting. (Tool and Die Design) A course in design including the planning and designing of small units involving surface layout, bending, folding, blanking, drawing, piercing, threading, and boring tools or dies.
