Show The dream of a new Weber College campus is becoming a reality. That dream, nurtured in the hearts of President H.A. Dixon and all the friends, students and faculty of Weber, is rapidly realizing fulfillment. Construction has begun. The buildings as numbered will be the first to be built. 1. Central Heating Plant. 2. Physical Science Building 3. Life Science Building and Temporary Humanities. 4. Business Building. 5. Temporary Administration and Social Science Building. 6. Weber College Stadium. Weber College Is Your College BECAUSE It is an accredited, recognized, growing institution, rooted in the pioneer character that made your State, and in the philosophy that envisions education for all the people. It is a college continuously taking shape, as your needs determine its character. Your personal and social needs, and those of your community, create and define its courses, inspire and perpetuate its programs. It provides for your personal instructional needs by limiting the sizes of classes and giving opportunity for your individual attention. It encourages your maximum social growth by fostering a friendly campus spirit and a rich program of out-of-class activities. It plans for your education at relatively low cost, and for your employment counselor, if you need him, to help you find part-time work, as he has helped hundreds of students before you. You may have other needs. Read this catalogue, addressed to you, a prospective student, and visit the College where your further needs may be considered, where guidance may be given, and plans made by the College for your future. The Future Weber College Is Yours BECAUSE Your community is building the future College. The people of Ogden City through their united efforts are developing the new campus. The gateway, entrance and roads of the campus are nearing completion through the combined efforts and financial assistance of the Ogden Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, and the students of Weber College. Landscape and building architects, after several years of study, have completed a long-range plan for the new campus. A stadium is being constructed in a natural cove in the mountainside. Construction of a large modern heating plant is underway, and bids are now being let for four new classroom buildings, which will provide 80,000 square feet of floor space. Funds on hand for this construction total $1,400,- 000. The Navy Center, established in Ogden, and Weber College are cooperating to make the R. O. C. program available to Weber College students. This is an excellent opportunity for military training. Weber College is serving the youth and adults of the community all four quarters of the year with a well-rounded program in both day and evening courses. Such extended offerings open the door of opportunity for accelerated college education for young men in the event of a call to military service, and establishes college status in the event a new G. I. Bill of Rights is drafted to limit G. I. privileges to young men whose education has actually been interrupted. Summer and Winter programs are synchronized with the programs and needs of the military centers of this area in order to qualify students to aid the war effort by securing employment at the defense depots.
