Sign Writing and Display. A course designed to give practice in pen lettering and in brush lettering. Pen lettering includes acquiring skill in speedball pen lettering and a study of letter structure. Brush lettering includes acquiring skill in brush lettering. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Collett, Strong 52. Sign Writing and Display. A course designed to give practice in alphabet structure, letter spacing, and layout. Alphabet structure and letter spacing include a study of types and alphabets, and optical letter spacing. Layout includes copy arrangement for price tags, sales cards, and banners. Five quarter hours. Winter. Collett, Strong 53. Sign Writing and Display. A course designed to give practice in card writing and principles of design and color. Card writing includes lettering and layout of showcards and banners. Principles of design and color include fundamentals of design in natural and in abstract, and the theory and practice of color. Five quarter hours. Spring. Collett, Strong 54. Sign Writing and Display. A course designed to give practice in lettering in oil, and a silk screen process printing. Lettering in oil includes lettering with enamels on glass, wood, and metal. Silk screen process printing includes tusch, glue, and profilm transfers and decals. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Air brush painting includes use and care of air brush, applying washes, tints, etc. Window display includes merchandise display in windows. Five quarter hours. Winter. Collett, Strong 56.
