Equipment used for testing and adjusting color television receivers is discussed. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff 91. Radar Fundamentals. Theory of circuits used to Radar and Television. Deals with non sinusiodal waves and transients, R-C and R-L time constants, gas tubes, electronic reflectors, voltage, doublers and regulators, video amplifiers, R-C oscillators and cathode followers. Theory of vacuum tube R-C and R-L circuits used as limiters, clampers, peakers, sawtooth generators, multivibrators, and counters, also Cathode ray tubes, transmission lines, wave guides, cavity resonators, and ultra-high-frequency generators. Johnson Young Farmer Program This program is designed to meet the needs of the young farmer who is attempting to establish himself in the business of farming, and to aid in acquiring skills and understanding which will help him to make satisfactory progress to farming. During the spring and autumn, instruction is given at the individual farm of the young farmer. The practical farm work is thus coordinated with laboratory and classroom studies. Special farm visits are part of the total program. A Master Farmer Certificate is offered to those who qualify. The candidate for this certificate shall (1) have been regularly registered in the Young Farmer Program to Vocational Agriculture; (2) have completed at least six credit hours of class instruction each year for five years, with not more than fifteen credit hours in Farm Mechanics; and (3) have completed any additional requirements prescribed by the Advisory and Curriciulum committees. Designed to give farmers training in the use of power equipment in building furniture, feeders, coops, hog houses, gates, doors, etc. Two quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 52. Farm Building Construction. Designed to meet the needs of the young farmer in the building of accessory equipment used on the farm. Hay bale elevators, field hale loaders, utility trailers, etc. Two quarter hours. Setting up apparatus, proper flame for welding, manipulation of rod and torch for simple welding jobs. Welding with the arc in manipulation of the electrodes. Two quarter hours. Heating, bending, shaping, and tempering of metal as well as sharpening plowshares, cultivating equipment, welding, arc and acetylene, bending and twisting cold metal. Two quarter hours. Construction and design of forms, figuring quantities of materials as they apply to floors in farm buildings, concrete walks, feeding floors, yard pavements, footings, foundation and basement walks. Construction of irrigation equipment, sidewalks, feed areas, fences, and feed mangers. Five quarter hours. Autumn, Spring. Staff 65. General Farm Mechanics. Hand and power tools.
