Principles of Education. This course deals with the meaning, aims, and function of education and its relationship to other agencies and institutions. Three quarter hours. Education 2. Organisation and Administration. A course in efficiency in the class room. A treatment of organization and routine. Three quarter hours. Education 3. Elementary School Curriculum. This course is given in response to the general demand for a greater mastery of subject matter by prospective teachers. The information to be taught will be studied and organized so that it can be taught efficiently. Three quarter hours. Education 4. Method of Teaching Elementary Subjects. The spontaneous, purposeful activity of the child is studied as the basic principle determining method. Consideration is given to school room equipment, organization and play activity. Three quarter hours. Education 5. Observation and Elementary Training. This course is essentially a laboratory course affording opportunity for practice teachers to apply the principles of teaching developed in the theoretical courses. Students actually teach not less than one hundred hours, and receive the benefit of frequent constructive criticism of expert supervisors. Daily. Twelve quarter hours. Education 6. Measurement of Elementary Education. A course dealing with the theory and technique of tests and measurements as applied to modern elementary school practice. Five quarter hours. -Education 7. Historical Development of the Principles of Education. A review of the educational doctrines and practices of the various periods of history. Daily. Five quarter hours. PSYCHOLOGY Psychology 1.
