Daily. Five quarter hours. French 3. Intermediate French. Class and collateral reading with conversation and composition based on the text. Constant drill to acquire French habits of articulation. Prerequisite: 1 unit of French or French 2. Spring Quarter. Daily. Five quarter hours. French 4. Intermediate French. Review of the essentials of French grammar. Class and collateral reading, composition, and conversation. Autumn Quarter. Daily Five quarter hours. French 5. Advanced French: Claps and collateral reading of novels, short-stories, and dramas. Winter Quarter. Daily. Five quarter hours. French 6. Advanced French. Review of grammar rules. Consistent conversational drill, based on reading. Extensive reading to enable students to read French easily and fluently for pleasure without constant reference to a dictionary. Spring Quarter. Daily. Five quarter hours. French 20. General Survey of French Literature. Reports and class discussion of the various fields and movements in French Literature. Class and collateral reading of some of the works of the more important authors with a study of their lives. Prerequisite: French 6, or 3 units of French. Autumn Quarter. Daily. Five quarter, hours. |
