He directed All Faces West for 9 years, was a purchasing agent for the city, worked for Utah Power & Light, sold advertising for the Ogden newspaper, was deputy County Assessor and Past Pres of the Alumni Association. FORTIES E. CHARLES PARKER, 1945, has received a 3 year grant for more than $7,000 to study for his Ph.D. in Vocational Education Administration at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles. His wife is the former Jean Taylor and they have 6 children. FLOYD JUNIOR PICKETT, 1946, received a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco. He has opened a dental office in Walnut Creek, California. ROBERT H. DEBOER, 1947, Weber State’s Purchasing Agent has been elected President of the Utah Purchasing Management Association. Mr. DeBoer has been with Weber State 13 years. DR. JOHN HOWARTH, 1964, graduated from the School of Dentistry at the University of Michigan and will enter the U.S. Air — Force to serve for 2 years at Yokota Air Force Base, Japan. E. STEVEN SMITH, Surgery Degree from former Kaye Waldron. H. RAYMOND BINGHAM, 1970, was awarded a scholarship to Harvard University School of Business. He will acquire a Master of Business Administration degree. He is married to the former Kristin Allgood. 1964, has received a Doctor of Dental Northwestern University. His wife is the BRENT TODD, 1970, graduate in English has been awarded fellowship for advanced study at the University of Arizona. ROBERT D. BINGHAM, 1970, has received a $3,420 grant to a teaching assistantship at the University of Washington to acquire his doctorate. He is married to the former Sharno Sholly and they have one daughter. ROBERT GREENWELL, 1966, has received a 3 year NDEA. fellowship of $2,400 annually to acquire his doctorate at Ohio State University. DIANE FISHER MOWER, 1970, outstanding scholar in the field of history has accepted a 3 year fellowship of $15,300 from Rice University, Houston, Texas. WILLIAM ©. SHERMAN, 1966, received his Ph.D. in BRUCE C. DINGER, 1970, has accepted a teaching assistantship for $3,447 at UCLA. While teaching Zoology he will be acquiring his doctorate in Philosophy. experimental Psychology at the University of Utah this summer, He is married to the former JoVan Nessen of Centerville and they have 2 children. SCOTT L. GREENWELL, 1970, has received a $2,000 teaching assistantship at Utah State University while working toward his Masters Degree. DOUGLAS G. WILLIAMS, 1967, has agreed to teach in Tonga at the Liahonoa High School in Nuku’alofa, the South Pacific for the Church School System of the L.D.S. Church for the next 3 years. His wife is the former Nancy Taggert and they have 2 children. RONALD URRY, 1970, has received as assistantship to Utah State University valued at $2,600 to acquire his Masters Degree. DAVIS D. MATHIS, 1967, has joined the commercial banking department of Continental Bank in Chicago. He has just received his Masters from Indiana University in Business Administration. — GREGORY K. BROWN, 1970, has been granted a teaching associateship for $2,600 to Indiana University, Bloomington. His wife is the former Kathleen Pilgrim. DENNIS B. HADLEY, 1968, and LANA BLANCH HADLEY 1970, will teach at the.church College of New Zealand in Temple View, New Zealand for the next 4 years. v GARY R. LEE, 1970, received a stipend of $3,200 at Utah State University where he will teach freshman Chemistry. His wife is the former Tamara L. Harbertson. THOMAS P. PETERSON, 1968, has been assigned to direct the Weber State College Business and Economics Developmen Institute. He received his Masters degree at Harvard this year. STEVEN L. KEIL, 1970, received a $2,100 teaching Assistantship at Brigham Young University and he will work towards his Master of Science degree while teaching undergraduate Physics. TYRUS L. PARKER, 1952, has been named plant manager of the Quaker Oats Co.’s pet foods plant at Wilmington, California. He and his wife Rosalie have 3 children. LOUIS B. BEST, 1968, has been awarded a fellowship to University of Illinois at Urbana. He will pursue a Ph.D. degre the field of Zoology. He has received his Master of Science Montana State University in Bozeman. MICHAEL T. JACKSON, 1970, has received assistantship of $3,750 at the University of Nevada Deer soil morphology while acquiring his Master ee. RICHARD E. MYERS, 1952, has been elected President of the Utah Funeral Directors and Embalmers Assoc. He is a member of the Weber State College Development Fund and a Past Pres of the Alumni Association. MARION RUTH KIRK, 1969, has graduated from basic train at the Recruit Training Command for Women, Naval Trainin Center, Bainbridge, Maryland. She will continue her training. Hospital Corps School at Great Lakes, Illinois. 4 THOMAS L. KERNS, 1954, received his Ph.D. in health, physical education and recreation from the University of Utah. Prior to receiving his degree he resided in Big Rapids, Michigan where he was assistant football coach and head wrestling coach at Ferris State University. CHECKETTS, 1955, has been appointed a technical sales representative for the radiography markets division of Eastman Kodak Company and has transferred to their headquarters in San Francisco. He will specialize in Kodak ee ennny products for medical, dental and industrial X-ray ields. JUDY G. MCCLELLAN, 1967, has been promoted to : Associate Programmer at the IBM Corporations development Laboratory in Kingston, New York. FIFTIES DR. WARREN V. JUDD, 1952, has completed 3 years of specialized training in oral surgery in Staten Island, New York. He is married to the former LaJean Carling of Clearfield and they have one child. JIMME D. FIRST LIEUTENANT RAYMOND T. WILSON, ‘66, a pilot who has served in Vietnam is now assigned to the 240th Bomb Squadron, a unit of the Strategic Air Command. His wife is former Jennie L. Hancock. AIRMAN STEVEN C. FULLMER, graduated with honors from U.S. Air Force medical services specialist course at Sheppard AFB, Texas. He is assigned to Hill AFB for duty with the Air Force Logistics Command. CRAIG JOHNSON, ‘70, was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the Utah National Guard after attending the Utah Military Academy for 54 weeks and two summer camps. LIGORI, ‘68, recently received his second award of the Army Commendation Medal while serving in Vietnam. As a Specialist Five, he earned the award for meritorious service as a secretary steno for the I Field Forces adjutant general. ERIC D. LEE, ‘69, has been commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force upon graduation from Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, Texas. His wife is Mary, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Roy G. Lemon of Willard. ARMY SARGEANT NICHOLAS A. VELIS has been awarded a Bronze Star Medal with “V” device while on active duty in Vietnam. CAPTAIN RODNEY T. SATO, ‘64, is assigned to a unit of the Pacific Air Forces, headquarters for air operations in Southeast Asia, the Far East and Pacific area. He was commissioned upon graduation from Officer Training School, Lackland AFB, Texas. LARRY R. DIPOMA, ‘67, is serving as Lieutenant on duty at Lajes Field, Azores. Huntsville resident, he had served as a state agricultural inspector and attended the Weber Academy. (Age 77) FRANK M. NAISBITT, age 78, died May 1970, after an extended illness. Retired as an automobile salesman and had attended Weber Academy. BARBARA A. REDMOND, age 21, died June, 1970. She attended Weber State prior to her illness. |
