Public Hearing on Garbage Services The city is considering seeking proposals for a garbage collection contract for all residents in the city. A committee is now exploring entering such an arrangement. The purpose of this committee is to prepare a "Request for Proposals" to locate a garbage service provider that can, among other things, cover the entire city, manage growth, and offer lower rates comparable to other communities in our area. The committee has met with garbage service providers to collect information and receive their input. The committee will present its findings and recommendations to the city council at a public hearing on August 17, 2006, at 6:30 p.m., at the municipal complex located at 1570 West 400 North. The city council will take public comment whether or not to issue a "Request for Proposals" for garbage collection service. Your comments are appreciated.
