It was decided that the 2007 meeting schedule will remain the same as the 2006 schedule, with the council meeting held on the third Thursday of each month. The post office has allowed the mail boxes on 400 North to be moved to both sides of the road for safety. The boxes on 1200 West between 400 North and 200 South can be moved to the west side of the road, also for safety concerns. Various officers reported on activities of WACOG, Bona Vista Water District, Central Weber Sewer District, and the Weber County Fire District, with which they were individually involved. Mayor Butler said he felt it had been a good year in our city, with the budget in the black. The mayor and staff were thanked by council members for their fine service. Residents can agree with the council, mayor and staff that it has been a year of advancement, regulated growth, and improvement in our great community. Following adjournment of the council meeting, a party for volunteers, officials and staff was held in the senior center. A wonderful dinner catered by Sandy's was served to about 65 people. The menu included pot roast, potatoes, salad, rolls, raspberry lemonade and strawberry cheesecake. Becky Burt, Bill Morris, and Shauna Meyerhoffer were in charge of the event. Bits and Pieces Jadee Glen Christofferson, son of Dee and Jaimee Christofferson was born on December 4, 2006. Justin "Geno" S. Hoskins, died December 8, 2006, just a few days short of his 60th birthday. Melissa Allred graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. Marcy Spencer received her Associate of Art degree from Weber State University. Annie Spencer was named Sterling Scholar in the Marketing/Business area, at Fremont High School. Erin Spencer helped plan and organize Kash for Kids at Fremont High School. They raised over $27,000.00 for needy families within the school boundaries. Wood turning art by Joe Deru was featured at the Gallery at the Station along with paintings by Mac Stevenson, from December 1 to 30, 2006. He also was among the artists whose work was displayed at the Eccles Community Art Center's Artist Invitational Exhibit for the same time period. |
