Thursday, March 3. Mexico City at the Majestic Hotel. Last night we enjoyed our dinner a five course for 80 cts each like the Hotel. Our rooms bath & beds are very good. It is located facing the Plazas Cathedran and Palace. It is quiet and very good service. At the City limits last night we were inspected by Government police and given a guide to drive us to our hotel. Traffic very congested and driving difficult for a stranger. We inspected several hotels before locating here. We were tired and enjoyed a good bath & retired early. We were awakened this A.M. by bells ringing from the oldest Cathedral in the American Continent. Started in 15 In morning Dr & I visited National Pawn shop cathediar and Peoza and many stores. In afternoon we all rode around city with guide visitd Chapultepec mud packs and visitd fine residencial section of city. Veda Eccles Savage was lost in a flood in Cal. Have guide Drove out 45 miles west to Toluca a beautiful valley and visited the market a great place many Indians in market neat every imaginable thing for sale. Bot some bookets and other stuff. Returned tired. Cleone a little sick to nite. Ou way back from Toluca visited old Monestary of Carmalites Monks founded in 1617 now in ruins. Very interesting. Tired to nite.
