Show Saturday, June 11. Oakdale, Cal. We started on our way at six thirty A.M. after a good nights rest. We ate breakfast in Reno Nev. Looked around town some and made our stop at Avon & Junes Ranch near Oakdale Cal. by six P.M. The days ride was very pleasant as we had no heat, but still snow thro Donnor Pass especially under the pines. We we happy to see Avon and family again. The children have grown so much and all are fine. Dr has enjoyed driving his new car it is very easy riding. Sunday, June 12. San Mateo Cal. we slept with two heavy blankets over us, and had a grand nights rest. Charles killed eight of his spring chickens and what a dinner we had, after which Avon and I drove to Oakdale with the children to see them swim. They all drive & swim very well. At four P.M. we left for San Mateo. A beautiful drive reached Marys home at nine P.M. Taylor had just returned from church and Mary was ready for bed. They had returned from a weeks vacation at Ben Bow the night before. |
