Complete three of the four courses listed below with an overall grade point average of 2.5 in the three courses selected and at least a grade of "C" in each of the courses selected: Comm HU1020, HU1050, 1120, 1130 2. Achieve a grade point average of 2.5 or higher in 30 credit hours. 3. Meet the general education requirements for Composition and Quantitative Literacy. General Education Refer to pages 36-41 for either Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science requirements (Bachelor of Arts recommended). The following courses required for the Communication major will also satisfy general education requirements: Comm HU1020 and Comm HU1050. To enroll in 3000- and 4000-level classes in the Department of Communication, a student must be admitted as a major or hold upper division standing in the university. Students must successfully complete at least 50 percent of their Communication course work at Weber State University in order to receive a major or a minor in Communication. COMMUNICATION TEACHING MAJOR ■■■[■■■MMfc.-p .,,,,,. _ „ Off B A I » Program Prerequisite: Teaching majors must meet the Teacher Education admission and certification requirements (see Teacher Education Department in this catalog). » Minor: Required. » Grade Requirements: A grade of "C" or better in courses required for this major (a grade of "C-" is not acceptable) in addition to an overall GPA of 3.00 (required for admission to the Teacher Education program). » Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 120 credit hours is required for graduation - a minimum of 45 of these are required within the major. A total of 40 upper division credit hours is required (courses numbered 3000 and above) ~ a minimum of 21 of these is required within the major. 105 Advisement Communication students are required to meet with a faculty advisor at least annually for course and program advisement. Teaching majors are encouraged to also consult with advisors in the Jerry and Vickie Moyes College of Education (call 801-626-6269).
